Can no longer consider himself the Unluckiest Man on the Face of this Earth
Not to put a Sire League story in a DelFL space, but I believe Jeff's fantasy baseball championship is relevant, not only for the fact that it is Jeff's first such victory in the fantasy Delverse, but also because this could be a harbinger of football success to come.
Going into the 2017 Sire League season, Jeff was 0-16 in baseball/football championships, with only one playoff victory (a 1st round win in the 2016 Sire League season). Jeff's fantasy reality had turned dystopian, pushing him ever so close to his own personal fantasy sport Appomattox. But perhaps all these years Jeff has simply been unlucky - that bosom friend of losers, maybe in this case it was actually true?
Success is truly known only to those who have suffered, lost, endured adversity and has stumbled from defeat to defeat. Therefore no one, apart from Tony of course, can understand fantasy success quite like Jeff. The Sire League trophy now reigns in Falls Church. Will it be joined by a DelFL trophy and Brown Jacket? The bad breaks have stopped (for example, winning while only scoring 305 points), for now, and the window is open.
