After predicting only 10% correctly in 2021, your Resident DelFL Insiders take another crack at predicting draft picks.
Don't mock the Mockers. The following is a well researched prediction of Saturday's upcoming draft's 1st round, assembled by the DelFL's perspicaious duo. They desperately need a bounce back year after going 2 for 19 in last year's draft (matching their lowest prediction rate from 2019). But despite this lack of success, there is valuable information to be found in the weeds of their quasi-clairvoyant madness.
For the first time, they have even provided blurbs to show for once how the sausage is made:
1. Yanni - Johnathan Taylor
Chalk pick for Yanz, Tony is planning to take WR so he certainly wants a nice juicy RB to trade for in week 3 and is in Yanz ear to make this pick. When will the Tragedy end?
2. Bo - Derrick Henry
Major regrets taking CMAC over the King last year and along with the King himself, seeks redemption this year.
3. Jeff - Josh Allen
Jeff does not get cute here and takes the best player in the NFL. Winter is coming…
4. Kapo - Justin Jefferson
Kapo and Steamer will be doing the griddy in the man cave after this one.
5. Randy - Austin Ekeler
The last time a Randy and Austin teamed up it was dynamite. This time is no different, they are both #weightroom strong.
6. Squid - Christian Mccafrey
"Shit, I know he gets hurt but the last time I had him I won it all". Can't win if you don't play he says.
7. Boner - Jamar Chase
Boner chasing the women of the night and a third star and no better player to accompany him than Jamar.
8. Keith - Cooper Kupp
This is a tough pick, multiple ways the Wolfe could go and multiple cards he could play (most of which are worthless). Ultimately I think he takes the youth and heavy workload that Najee has to offer.
9. Sean - Davante Adams
Old faces in New places. Sean and Davante both will be breaking in new homes this season and Sean will opt for the safer play in Adams over the ?s surrounding the top backs
10. Jesse - Najee Harris
Jesse is not really sure what to do here. Birdman is constantly asking him what he is going to do with his pick which is confusing him even more. A lot of question marks with some of the players in this range so Jesse plays it safe with a known commodity.
11. Birdman - Joe Mixon
After being burned by Ridley last year (until he offloaded him to Tony) Birdman returns to his classic boring ways. Sure, he could take Kamara but with the looming legal troubles birdman wants no part of a 6 game suspension end of season. I guess he could take Dalvin Cook, but we all know he is way too cheap to pay the insurance premium on Alexander Mattison. Not even Birdman believes Deebo can repeat what he did last year. Instead, he will take a steady and heavy dose of Joe Mixon. A nice boring player on an elite offense who gets ~20 touches a game and is a double digit TD threat.
12. Giorgio - Deebo Samuel
Giorgio needs to catch lightning in a bottle after an epic collapse last season. The most electric pick in round 1 will put him back on track.
13. Andrew - Dalvin Cook
The winter seal has found ground and pound success with Cook before and at this price, he will glady attempt it again.
14. Tony - Alvin Kamara
Tony and Alvin is a great pairing at 14 both don’t ever seem to be bothered by legal trouble. After a few weeks and as trials heat back up, Tony will later regret this pick. He will proceed by trying to dump him on other owners all while swearing it has nothing to do with his legal woes... Spare us all.
15. Billy - Pat Mahomes
After taking Mahomes top 5 last year and finding success Billy boy runs it back again at 15.
16. Billy - Travis Kelce
Billy doubles down on the chiefs and takes the top playmaker in a Mahomes lead offense.
17. Stinky - D'andre Swift
Last year's Cinderella stinky came so close to doing what nobody thought was possible with that roster. He turns back to a familiar face to kick things off this year.
18/19. Gwil - CeeDee Lamb/Mark Andrews
After winning last season, Gwil gets cute and returns to his RB0 strategy that got him 17th in his rookie year. Should be plenty of bell ringing with Lamb in town. Chalk this up to a honeymoon season.
